Antony Williams

Antony is known for working almost exclusively in egg tempera, in which he portrays his subjects with great detail, achieving a beautiful and heightened feeling.

His work is created from intense observation and is distinctly recognizable. Antony has won numerous awards and recognition, with commissions including HRH The Queen.

Last year he was awarded First Prize in the Herbert Smith Freehills Portrait Award at the National Portrait Gallery. He has previously won the Ondaatje Prize (1995, 2012) and exhibited in 2023 with Hampstead Art Society as an invited artist - including a talk spotlighting his work.
